Positives

1.Windows 7 introduces real advances in organizing your programs and files, arranging your taskbar and desktop, and quickly viewing and launching the page or document you want, when you want it. It also has cool built-in touch-screen features.

2. Doesn't have Vista's sluggishness; incompatibility with third-party software and hardware; heavy hardware requirements; and constant, annoying security warnings.

3. Upgrading from Vista to 7 is relatively easy as it allows you to keep all your installed programs. Unfortunately not so with upgrading from an Windows XP version.

4. Better at networking than Vista.

Negatives
1. Upgrading from XP isn't as easy as upgrading from Vista. You'll have to reinstall all your programs.
